Expara (Thailand) in partnership with the Stock Exchange of Thailand by SET enterprise is hosting a step-by-step series of virtual workshop on "Startup Valuation" during April 2021. Through this workshop, entrepreneurs will be guided by Douglas Abrams, Founder & CEO of Expara to understand commonly used methods in early stage startup valuation for "Free". 

This initiative forms a part of Youth Business International's the Rapid Response & Recovery Programme, supported by Google.org.

Background

 

In response to requests from the audience, this workshop is initiated under the collaboration between the Stock Exchange of Thailand and Expara (Thailand) under Youth Business International's the Rapid Response & Recovery Program, supported by Google.org.

 

Designed and delivered by Douglas Abrams, Startup Valuation workshop aims to share key steps and examples of how valuation of early stage companies work as well as the live discussion on practical tips for negotiating valuation in the fund raising process. 

Course Content

This workshop is designed to be delivered in four sessions, covering the following topics: 

 

  • Review the basic concepts of startup valuation & why the traditional valuation methods could not be used in early stage startup 

  • Understand financial projection steps of forecasting revenue, cost and cash flows​

  • Apply three commonly used methods namely Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Comparables & VC method to value early stage companies

  • Experience sharing on common valuation mistakes & negotaition techniques
